Bruno Fernandes claims he is impressed with the changes in the United team so far but admits they need to improve ahead of the new season.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes admits he is impressed with the changes made in the team in the short period of time.

Last season United team weren’t impressive despite bringing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

United endure a poor season last season which saw them finish outside the Champions League spot and also sack former manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer.

Ten Hag era has brightened up the team in short period of time as they have three wins in three in their preseason games.

Speaking after their third preseason game against Crystal Palace Bruno said there areas they need to improve but still impressed with the changes in the team.

“We are obviously feeling good, the result will help with that and we are playing good football,” Bruno said.

“There are a lot of things to improve on yet, but we have time to do that and be ready for the first [Premier League] game of the season.”

He added that the front three press has been aggressive so far and this have given the midfielders chance to move higher up the pitch.

“We have been much more aggressive now and the three guys up front have been much more aggressive in the way they press and they are strong too,” said the Portugal international.

“They make the last line squeeze and it makes the midfielders come a little bit higher, it makes it so, when we recover the ball, we are being closer to the ball too.

“We are much fresher to do that, and we have freedom when we recover the ball, because we get to teams and, when they recover, they are really wide. There is loads of space in the middle and, as you said, we are much better on the ball too.

“We all know that everyone wants to score goals, but the main ones have to be the strikers,” he added. “They know that they have to be there to score goals and they are doing really well.

“We have to keep supporting them in making them happy because we know that they lead from the goals.”
