Mason Mount makes promise to fans after loss
Mason Mount has promised the fans positive change after the World Cup break after the loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has promised the fans after their Premier League loss to Newcastle United.
The Blues lost 1-0 to the Magpies yesterday away from home following their loss to Arsenal at Stamford bridge.
Following their game last night, Mount has now promised Chelsea fans to expect positive change after the World cup break.
“We haven’t played to the level we expect of ourselves as Chelsea,” the 23-year-old wrote to the club’s supporters.
“You all deserve more from us. When we’re back from the World Cup, we are getting straight back to it and pushing ourselves to a higher level.
“We have the best fans in the country and we will make you proud this season.”
Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Conor Gallagher admitted that they were not a match for Newcastle in the game and that the Magpies deserved the win.
“I don’t think we were good enough and I think Newcastle deserved to win,” Conor honestly admitted.
“We’ve got to be better and we need to take a look at ourselves. Physically, they were stronger than us and a lot more intense and that’s something we need to improve on.
“If we want to be challenging for titles and things like that, then we need to be so much better and Newcastle showed that. So we need to look at ourselves because we know there’s a lot to improve on.”
