Nketiah: We will have to be at our best
Eddie Nketiah admits on facing a tough opponent in Bodo/Glimt as he claims they need to be at their best against the Norwegian in the second league of the Europa league game.
Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah insists the Gunners will have to be at their best in the second leg against the Norwegian team Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
The Gunners claimed a 3-0 victory in the group stage game against Bodo/Glimt as goals from Nketiah, Holding and Vieira was enough.
Nketiah, who scored the first goal in the game admits how tough their Europa League opponent were as he believes they need to stay at their best in the second leg.
“I thought they were a really good side,” he said. “They tried to play, they had a real strong way and kept playing even when they were down, so it was tough opposition. They made it really tough for us at times, but it was a good result for us.
“I think once again the atmosphere was amazing, and we’re really building that connection between us and the fans, so long it may it continue. Obviously, we can hopefully continue winning here.”
Reflecting on the game, he said: “It’s good to get some minutes and good to get on the scoresheet. It just kind of came quick, so I was just alert. I knew KT was kinda shooting so I was just alive on my feet and obviously adjusted well to finish.
“Obviously, if I start the last four games, I’ve got more of a chance of scoring so it’s been nice to test myself against different European teams, and I’ve done well so far so hopefully I can continue that. I’ve got much more to give.”
The forward receives praise from his manager Mikel Arteta after the game as the Spaniard claims Nketiah is always ready to be called upon.
“Eddie is always ready,” Arteta said. “Every time he plays you look at the numbers and the stats he produces, it’s phenomenal, and today he had a chance to play and I think he took it really well.”
