Michail Antonio motivates his side ahead of Liverpool clash after crashing out of the FA cup to Southampton.
West Ham striker Michail Antonio motivates his side ahead of their trip to Liverpool on Saturday after crashing out of the FA Cup.
The Hammer lost the chance of moving into the FA cup quarter final after they lost 3-1 to Southampton last night.
David Moyes side sit two points below fourth place Manchester United in the Premier league as they seek to qualify for the Champions League.
West Ham are also chasing Europa League glory, with a two-legged last-16 clash against Spanish club Sevilla to come during the next fortnight.
Speaking after their FA Cup defeat to the Saints Antonio said they need to pick themselves up and move on.
“Onwards and upwards, basically; we’ve got to pick ourselves up from this and go again on Saturday,” Antonio told the Hammers’ website.
“Obviously we wanted to go further in this competition, and now we’re out, so all we’ve got to do is concentrate on what we are in now, and that’s the Europa League and the Premier League.
“We’re still going for the top four, so with all the negatives that have happened (at Southampton), we’ve got to think about the positives for the season.
“We’ve got the top four chase still and we’re in the last 16 of the Europa League. Let’s just see what we can do with those and keep moving forwards.
“One thing about us is that nothing knocks us down. We don’t stay down. We get up and we go again.”
Meanwhile Liverpool defeated Premier League side Norwich 2-1 in the FA Cup and are through to the quarter final.
The Reds just claimed the English League cup from London Club Chelsea after a run of penalty shootout.
Jurgen Klopp side are six points behind League leaders Manchester City with a game on hand as the title race continue.
